Alicante

Alicante is situated in the Bay formed by the Cabo de las Huertas and the Cabo de Santa Pola, at the foothills of the Monte Benacantil. Alicante has a view over the sea and the fertile ´huerta´, that surrounds the city

Altea

The dome of Altea´s church, blue with a white geometrical design, is one of the symbolic images of the Costa Blanca. Altea is situated on a hill whose peak rises above the white-tiled parish church. The magnificently jumbled and cluttered centre of the Old Town provides Altea with a special charm.


Benidorm

Benidorm´s beaches and range of leisure amenities explain why has it has become Costa Blanca´s main tourist area.  Benidorm has some of the best beaches in the world. The fine sand, cleaned daily, the quality of the services and the transparency of the water are the main reasons given by Benidorm´s many visitors.


Calpe

In the thirties writers such as Hemingway spent their summers in Calpe. Calpe´s first hotel was established next to the Peñón Rock: the Ifach Parador. The Morro del Toix and the Peñón de Ifach mark the extremities of Calpe´s bay. The Peñón de Ifach (Ifach means north in Phoenician) is the symbol of Calpe and, by extension, of the Costa Blanca.


Campello

 The sea and El Campello have always been associated. Iberian and Greek remains, such as temples dedicated to the Gods of the Sea and the Goddess of Fecundity, have been discovered in the area known as Illeta. In the same area a watchtower was erected in 1554 to protect the coast from Arab attacks, and it has since become the symbol of the town.


Denia

Dénia (Spanish: Denia) is the judicial seat of the comarca of Marina Alta, in the province of Alicante, Spain, on the Costa Blanca halfway between Alicante and Valencia. It has a population is 36,200 (as of 2003). A partial ruin of a fortress stands right in the middle of the town.


Guardamar del Segura

 Guardamar del Segura is a town that through the course of its history has been able to take advantage of the natural adversities that have befallen it. Sited at the mouth of the Segura River, the town has always held a key position as a guardian of the river.


Javea

Xàbia (Spanish: Jávea) is a coastal town located in the comarca of Marina Alta, in the province of Alicante, Spain, by the Mediterranean Sea. Situated behind a wide bay and sheltered between two rocky headlands, the town has become a very popular small seaside resort and market town.


Moraira

Moraira was a village populated by 52 old Christian families and dedicated to growing Muscatel grapes and raisins. The villagers built a beautiful late-Gothic church in honour of the patron saint, St Catalina.Prehistoric man, the Iberians and especially the Moors (Benimeit, Benimarco and Alcasar are rural sections of Teulada) all left remains in this coastal area.


Orihela

The creation of the Bishopric of Orihuela played an essential part in the identity of Orihuela and it has indelibly marked the history of the town through the ages. Orihuela was the Episcopal seat of the province of Alicante for almost four centuries and its civic traditions and artistic heritage are stamped by this major religious influence.


San Juan

San Juan de Alicante is located in the centre of Alicante´s countryside and is surrounded by Campello, San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante and Mutxamel. This region favours dry crops, as it is an area with irregular rainfall. Santa Faz monastery is located in Alicante´s municipal district, in close proximity to San Juan.


Santa Pola

The Roman Porutus Illcitanues is a populous and lively seaside city with almost 15 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. Santa Pola´s past has always been intimately linked to the sea, and the sea has determined its economy, culture, gastronomy and the identity of its people. In ancient times it was Elche´s port and managed to build up one of the biggest fishing fleets of the entire Mediterranean. The Salinas (salt-flats) are another interesting aspect of Santa Pola.

Torrevieja

Villajoyosa

 La Vila is the historical and administrative capital of the Marina Baixa; its economy depends both on shallow-water and deep-sea fishing. The town´s relationship with the sea has been a determining factor in its history and culture and the town´s overseas trade has produced La Vila´s other typical industry: chocolate.
